Q: How do I buy tickets?

Q: What are Facility Restoration Fees?
A: It is a fee charged by Civic Theatre. The published prices for Divine Performing Arts show include $2.50 Facility Restoration Fee.

Q: Is there any ticket discount?
A: We offer group discounts and seasonal promotions. Click here for current promotional plan. Discounts cannot be combined, cannot be applied retroactively and do not apply to previously purchased tickets.

Q: How long is the performance?
A: Divine Performing Arts performance is about two and half hours, including a 15 minutes intermission.

Q: How do I get to the theatre?

Q: When should I arrive the theatre?
A: It is recommended you arrive at the Civic Theatre at least 30 minutes prior to the curtain time. Please allow sufficient time for traffic delays and parking. There is usually ample and convenient parking available if you arrive early. Should you arrive at the theatre late or after curtain, you will be held in the lobby until there is a suitable seating break during the performance.

Late Seating Policy

Divine Performing Arts performances begin promptly at the announced starting time. Late arrivals will be required to remain in the lobby areas until an appropriate seating break in the performance. No seating breaks during any work.

Patrons who leave the hall before or during a work will not be reseated until after the completion of the work. In fairness to the performers and fellow show-goers, we ask that you remain in your seat until the performance has concluded. Lobby monitors are available to view most on-stage performances.

Q: What should I wear to the performance?
A: Going to Divine Performing Arts performance is often a special occasion for our guests and they frequently dress up for the event. For some, that may mean a tuxedo or sparkling gown, for others it may mean a business suit or blazer, and for some it may be a clean pair of pants and a polo shirt. San Diego audiences do tend to be less formal than might be expected in other large cities, however we recommend dressing as if you are going out to dinner at a nice restaurant.

Q: Any accommodations for patrons with physical challenges?
A: Civic Theatre has wheelchair accessible seating, restrooms and parking access. Infra-red audio assistance systems are in use with headsets available in Theatre lobby areas prior to performances. Q: May I bring a camera?
Audio / Video Recording STRICTLY PROHIBITED
A: The taking of photographs, video, audio, digital or recordings of any type during performances is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Please leave all cameras or audio / video recorders at home.

Q: May I bring child(ren) to the performance?
Children: Admission for Age 4 and above, special discounts available
A: Divine Performing Arts show is suitable for children of all ages. For many children, it is “a marvelous experience. A wonderful introduction to the outstandingly rich Chinese culture.” (Cliff.com Reviewer 10-year old James & Mom) “It’s something that every child should see. It’s a great message – a great message for truth, divinity and sense of purpose.” (Lisa McLeod, MPP, Canada)

However, to make the experience more enjoyable for both parents and children, without disruption to other patrons, only children of age 4 and older are allowed to the performance.

Every guest must have their own ticket, including children, and all tickets must be located in the same seating area. Q: What if someone needs to contact me during the performance?

A: Please TURN OFF all pager, cell phones, watches, alarms, and other electronic equipment during the performance to avoid potential interference to the electronic equipments used in the performance.

Guests cannot be paged at the theatre. If someone might need to contact you, please make sure they know your exact seat location (seating section, row and seat numbers). A message phoned to the House Manager at (619) 615-4125 will be relayed to you at an appropriate break in the program. Please do not text message during the performance.

Q: Are there restaurants nearby?

Q: Anything else that I should pay attention to?

A: For the enjoyment of the entire audience, we asks your cooperation with the policies mentioned above:

  • Only children of 4 and above are admitted.
  • Arrive early. Late seating is only available at appropriate breaks.
  • Absolutely NO photographing or recording during the performance.
  • Turn off cell phones during the performance.

In addition, please be aware that other patrons may be sensitive to perfume and after-shave fragrance when in close proximity. Your consideration is appreciated.
